Journey: Don't Stop Believin'

Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere

Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice just one more time

Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop

Wikipedia: Don't Stop Believin'
"Don't Stop Believin'" is a popular song by the American rock band Journey, originally released as a single from their 1981 album Escape, which became a #9 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 on its original release. In the United Kingdom, the song was not a Top 40 hit on its original release; however, it did reach #6 on a 2009 re-release, having gained increased popularity through its use on television.

Allmusic has described "Don't Stop Believin'" as "an anthem for the young who wanted to feel free and unrestricted", featuring "one of the best opening keyboard riffs in rock." As of November 2011, it is the top-selling catalog track in iTunes history. It is generally considered to be Journey's signature song.

In 2007, the song gained press coverage for its use in the final scene of HBO's The Sopranos series finale "Made in America." Steve Perry was initially hesitant in allowing the song to be used in The Sopranos but later agreed.

Wikipedia: Escape (Journey album)
Escape (sometimes stylized as E5C4P3) is Journey's seventh studio album (and eighth overall), released on July 31, 1981. The album features four hit Billboard Hot 100 singles - "Don't Stop Believin'" (#9), "Who's Crying Now" (#4), "Still They Ride" (#19) and "Open Arms" (#2) - plus rock radio staples like "Stone in Love" and "Mother, Father".

Wikipedia: Journey (band)
Journey is an American rock band formed in 1973 in San Francisco by former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch. The band has gone through several phases; its strongest commercial success occurred between 1978 and 1987, after which it temporarily disbanded. During that period, the band released a series of hit songs, including 1981's "Don't Stop Believin'", which became in 2009 the top-selling catalog track in iTunes history.

Some personal notes
It was a perfect finish to the television series The Sopranos. I always loved the line Some will win, some will lose, Some were born to sing the blues. Ah, how true. So let's all not stop. After all, what's the alternative?
